Status and how to request access
Android: closed testing. The Google Play listing is not public and there is no open way to join the test today. iOS: in preparation, no launch date.
What you can do now: create your Free account at zokuathletics.com, no card, and use the online WOD timer on this website. Subscribe to the newsletter on the home page and we will tell you about the launch. What the app is and is not, in what is Zoku Athletics.
The app is not public on the stores yet. It is in testing and there is no launch date.
What the app does
What follows is what the website already documents; behaviour may change during testing.
WOD timer
Multimodal: For Time, AMRAP, EMOM, Tabata and mixed, with a time cap. It records the session and links it with your benchmarks. The formats are explained in the WOD timer guide.
Load and fatigue (Vital Flow)
You report how you arrive and the session adjusts the load: lower if you arrive saturated, higher if fresh. Guidance only; it does not replace a coach or a health professional. Context in training by fatigue and HRV.
Routes with an alert for your contacts (SafeTrack)
Tracks your outdoor sessions with GPS. If you stay still, the app asks whether you are OK and, if you do not answer, opens your messaging app with your location ready for your contacts; the message goes out only when you tap send. It does not call 112 and does not replace emergency services. More in training alone safely.
Camera-based form feedback (Posture Coach)
Checks your form on squats, lunges, deadlifts, presses, dips and pull-ups and points out what to adjust. Guidance only; it can be wrong.
Community and benchmarks (Tribe, Rival Live, Solidary Reps)
More than 150 benchmarks from the Zoku catalogue, live competition in time-windowed events with a leaderboard by category, a feed with kudos and charity campaigns with verified beneficiaries. What a benchmark is, in the benchmark WODs guide.
What are the most common questions?
Is the app on Google Play or the App Store?
Not yet. Android is in closed testing and the Google Play listing is not public; iOS is in preparation, with no date.
How do I request access to the closed test?
There is no public way in today. Subscribe to the newsletter on the home page and we will tell you about the launch. Meanwhile, the Free account works on the website.
Is it free?
The Free plan is free, with no card and no expiry. Pro and Elite are paid; what each includes is shown in the plans section of the home page.
Do I need an account?
Yes. The account is created for free at zokuathletics.com and is the same for the website and the app.
Does it work without coverage?
Partly: you can train and the session is saved; live features, such as the Rival Live leaderboards or the Tribe feed, need a connection.
Is it a functional-training app?
It is a functional and hybrid training app: WODs, strength, HIIT and outdoor sessions in one place. WOD names are the ones in common use; Zoku Athletics is not affiliated with any organisation or brand.
